My first welding project

Dont have all that many pics but heres the bumper and rear tire carrier I made for my truck. Its made out of 5/16'' metal and I stick welded it all. It took me about 10 hours to make it from start to finish. If anyone runs into this thing they will not be happy I know it wont budge. Its wicked strong. I learned alot from this...and had a ton of fun.

This is when I POR'd it

after i herculined it and installed it

Re: My first welding project

looks good, hate to tell you though, in about 9 months that herculiner is gunna start showing through as the black fades off leaving the little rubber bits.. took 10 months for my whole truck bed to start having that effect. easy fix is the "under body armor" or simple flat black paint.

I have had it on my truck for over a year and it hasnt had a problem. I put UV Protection on it and it stays nice and shiney.

Not looking to piss in your pool, but I hope something hanging off the back of your truck, you're going to be driving on public road-ways, isn't your " first welding project" as the title states????
Beautiful truck!
