Impact Plate for Welders masks

Question:
Where is the lens impact plate to be positioned in the welders mask? Is the impact plate the plate that is closest to the welders eyes? Your assistance will be appreicated. :

Are you talking the conventional 2"x4 something " lenses? How many lenses do you have total?

You'll want the shaded lenses sandwiched between protective lenses of one type or other. The poly-whatever impact should be in as the last or next to last line of defense before the eyes. No glass immediately next to the eye. The reason I say last or next to the last line of defense is some use a very thin final layer of plastic merely as a spatter shield on the inside too. Once in a while a hot one drops in .

Of course you'll want a spatter shield on the outside too to protect the shaded lense. That one used to be a clear glass. Been awhile since I've used aconventional hood. Sorry for the shakey info.
