Another vertical Mig

I have seen the videos, read the hints/instructions, and seen other threads. When I had my 110v welder, vertical mig was no big deal (flux). With my MM 251, I can't seem to get it to flatten out.

Makes me wonder... do you typically turn the heat down on vertical up (gmaw)? Or keep it about the same as flat? I read on vertical down to crank it up and keep it moving. I have been trying the weaving pattersn (triangle, upside-down V), and am having issues. I know I need more practice, practice, practice..... but I think I must need another pointer or two because I am having a hard time with it with this more powerful welder.

Re: Another vertical Mig

I turn it down from flat. Just guessing maybe 10 to 15%.

Was that your method, "hold the toes and zip across the middle"? Kinda looks like it.

The avatar is a picture of the girlfriend.

Just like DesertRider33 says.
Trick is being consistent, as you can see, I'm not!
