Harbor Freight welding wire any good?

http://www.harborfreight.com/catalog...q=welding+wire

This stuff.

Is it worth buying or just plain trash? I'm curious (both flux core and solid wire).

thanks!

Re: Harbor Freight welding wire any good?

The solid wire I've bought from them is made in Italy and has always worked fine. I haven't taken the jump and tried their flux core, since I don't use it as much.

Re: Harbor Freight welding wire any good?

I bought a bunch of solid wire and found that it developed rust rather quickly. My name brand stuff has never had this problem.

When not rusty, it worked fine, though.

I prefer Hobart wires because they are more consistent than generic wires. Plus, you know where the name brand wires are made, you never know where your generic wires (like HF) are coming from or exactly who makes them.
