Can anyone explain to me what all those holes are for on the lower round part of a compact bender.(ex. HF,Hosfeild...?)

not knowing exactly on ur bender that ur talking about im going to go out on a limb here(hope it holds...yikes)and say that the majority of holes are for changing position of your follow die...i.e. different followers for dif stock and different bends so you need more then one location.
also on a side note many of the benders out their of this type are knock offs of hosfeild wich has been around forever as a high qaulity tool.because theve been around awhile there is almost no end to the different attachments availible from them(talking hundreds here, straight from hosfeild) so most of the clones are just following their form...even tho most have few to none in the way of additional parts.

hope that helps a bit...if im talking about the wrong holes just holler ive got some autocad plans of a full size hosfeild i can attach with some numbered holes so that ya can steer me in the right direction

!!!!!SAFETY,FUNCTION,FORM;In that order or find someone else!!!!!!!

I believe they for repetitive bends. You should have a little plug you set in a hole so it will stop your handle from going any further.

after seeing ur reply i checked out a few sites to see if i could figure out what round part he was talking about.i am used to the straight bar stops(the ones that u can rotate around the bender and wasnt thinkin about the degree ring.

oh and on a side note didnt mean that all benders out there other then hosfield are junk...several very good ones like jd and protool are out there also
