Re: identifying miller syncro
From what I can see in the poor pict it's a Miller Syncrowave 300. Here's the manual for that machine.
http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o350p_mil.pdf The manual posted lists as from 1987. The manual says that machine should be about 750 lbs or so. Also looks like you'll need either a 125 amp or 100 amp breaker to feed it on 230v at the rated 300 amps. You can probably get by at lower power on a 60 amp breaker for most stuff if powers an issue. I'm not that familiar with those machines. Maybe Steve (7A749 here) or SundownIII can give you a bit more info on the age, and how they run. $1000 seems a bit high to me also unless it's got some extras. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this came with a cooler and water cooled torch based on its size. That would add a bit to it. The old 330A/BP's run $500-800 with coolers usually depending on condition. I'd guess this would be worth a bit more, but Steve would know better. I'd probably offer $700 and see if he'd take it if it comes with the cooler. Newer Syncrowave 180's usually bring $1100-1300 and thats without a cooler for a newer, but much smaller machine.

Re: identifying miller syncro
If you can get the serial number for it, we can tell you what year it was made by the first two alpha characters of the serial number.
