New Member in New York

Hi to all craftsmen and women. While new to the field and it's newer processes, I have welded in the service, and have Oxy Acet equipment at home. Retired Army, I did just about everything in 24 years. Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery, Aviation and Medical, Enlisted, Warrant, and Comissioned Officer.
I am signed up for a BOCES course in Feb 2011 to start from scratch and learn the new stuff the correct way. Who says an old dog can't learn! Watch my dust....
My hobbies will keep me busy as a welder, craftsman and gunsmith.
I hope to gain as much info as you folks are willing to share.
Thanks for your time and insights. God Bless America !

I Ya Bandaid-6 and Welcome to the Welding Web Family. Always nice to hear that someone is using those BOCES programs! Especially our retired veterans (I did 26 1/2 yrs in the AF and joint services)

If the BOCES offer an apprentice program take them up on the offer as it is an excellent program. And if your instructor is a shop owner ask if he needs a shop helper or apprentice!! It shows your dedicated,& motivated. It will also get that much needed shop experience,
