Duty cycle 250 EX and PP 256

I'm looking for an AC tig welder and have been comparing duty cycles of some machines.
The Everlast units generally have a high duty cycle compared with some of the common US machines. For example, the Lincoln Precision TIG 185 I've been considering is rated at just 15% duty cycle @ 185 amps, ten minute cycle.

The PP256 is a machine I'm also looking at, it has a duty cycle of 35% at 250 amps according to your site. I was of the impression that this machine is essentially a 250Ex with 60 amp plasma cutter added but with lift start& spot weld features deleted.
Your site shows a duty cycle of 60% @ 250 amps for the EX. Are these duty cycle numbers for the EX 250 and PP 256 correct?
Also. I see that the EX can be run on 3 phase or single phase. If the 250Ex is run on 3 phase does this change the welding characteristics in any way including duty cycle?

Duty cycles are correct. More you stuff in a machine, the more it takes to cool it.
No, it does not change the way the 250 ex welds.

after posting I found this Ebay listing for a PP256 today

The listed duty cycle(TIG) in the description is 60% @ 250 amps, same as the EX.

Is the Ebay listing incorrect?

Yes.
I have confirmed it several times with the factory. It is not 60%.

So you will believe me, I am posting the actual panel back specifications.

I would have believed you without the photo, I was just trying to sort out the inconsistency in the numbers, which I think all come from Everlast USA or some part thereof.

The person or persons that posts the auction, isn't necessarily the most knowledgeable about welding or the welders. Even having a list to draw off of, things get transposed,and no one catches it because no one knows what to look for.

PS, our PowerTig 185 micro is finally going into production soon. A functioning version will be at fabtech. Duty cycle, I assure you, will be much higherthan the Lincoln, with AC/DC basic controls and AC balance, Frequency, but no pulse or other 'fancy" features....but it is what alot of people are looking for.

I'll watch for it. At 15% duty cycle 185 amps, I don't think the Lincoln is gonna do it for me, good deal though it may be.

Then you post a photo of the actual machine that shows:

and
60% @ 200A

Either your statement is off (concerning the literature) or the machine is mislabeled.

Kinda makes one queston "how many other errors there are" in your advertisements.

The confusion is on your part, I think, or you are trying to flame the thread...again. There are TWO welders being discussed, one with 60% duty cycle and 35% duty cycle. I posted the welder with the duty cycle in question and affirmed that the literature on our site is correct. Ebay is not. Our literature on our site states a 35% duty cycle as I said.
