Deer Gambrels

I taught a friend of mine how to process a deer, and now he wants to get all the equipment. So I figured I'd start him out with a gambrel. They are so easy and cheap to make, that I decided to crank out a few of them. I experimented with different designs and sizes. the metal cost me $8 total. 3/8 inch hot roll rod. Plus........ i wanted to use my new toy (a compact metal bender than I bought at Harbor Freight). It worked great!

Re: Deer Gambrels

Middle one on the left works good. We have several like it.

You might want to put a longer hook on the ends. That way if you have just one side loaded it will still say in the leg.

Works great if you ever do something split into sides. You can take off an entire side and the other says hanging.
