time to cut em down for shorts

i had a few pair of jeans that the left leg got frayed because tghats where the sparks mostly fall. (first foto)
i was welding yesterday and saw a strange light, and figured it was more nonsense from my ad hood. no, it was a bonfire three inches below the bag...(second foto , over and out)

Dude those pants aren't even broke in yet. I'll have to dig out some "dead" ones where the knees are REALLY gone... times like these I really wished I'd paid attention to the sewing part of Home Ecc...

I got to tackle my old boss once. He was blithely welding away in the dead of winter and he's lit up like a torch from the sparks and didn't know it because the heat hadn't made it thru the layers yet. A REAL good reason NOT to wear poly...

weldbead - Take the pant legs - cut to desired length - hem the top, stitch the bottom
and you have tough, compact, and reasonably clean chain bags with a handle. OPUS

Yessir, grease soaked insulated coveralls in the winter, the smoke will get you before the fire will..

Good pics - Glad you didn't lose too much hair....

Had a sign in a shop "NO SMOKING UNLESS YOU JUST STOPPED FLAMING".
