A few pics of a gate I built at work

Welding it on site

Bad pic of the primer but everything lined up

Finish paint

The plate that I welded the hinges to is threw-bolted to the columns. If a truck or something hangs up on it they will need a mason to fix it lol

This morning the guy laying the carpet had some handrails he wanted some tabs welded on.I'm thinking ok well we both can weld but one guy only owns a grinder and use's the company's welder. But I've invested in all the tools to do the work...pay rent on a shop etc...He's talking to the other guy about it and I'm like so how do you plan on doing this?
Anyway the guy followed me to my shop and I fixed him up.It just piss's me off when some guys want to play the game without paying their dues.

Gate looks nice. I like the "shelter" you guys built. 1 question...What about all the over spray on the concrete?

Neat gate. Did you get a pic of your latching method?

They'd have some nice views there if they didn't have all that verticle power cutting across the sky ..

Re: A few pics of a gate I built at work

I know this is a welding forum not a photography forum. but if your like me and you have pictures of everything you have made in a portfolio you like the pictures to show details.
On the third picture you could use a fill flash to get rid of most of the shadows and you get your detail back.

back on track now. the gate looks good. I also like the "shelter" to bad I cant do something like that here in wisconsin, to much wet stuff.

Nice gate, looked weird as heck in the first pic, but seeing it mounted made it all make sense..

In the last pic you can see the gate sitting on a box...that is the motor that opens and close's it. So no latch its all by remote and sensor's.
I had to dig trench's for the drain pipe's...the maintenance man(last pic building in the back ground)was glad to see that. They had a real gate company install the last gate's and they left that little detail out.He said he is always have to suck the water out of the box's.
Most of those power lines will be going under ground.

Nice work man. For something so large, you managed to give it grace. I really like it.

Very nice. Besides the tent, I like the use of the 1/2 height scaffold as a workbench. I need to get/build a few 1/2 height sets to complement what I already have. Mine often serves double duty as an onsite stock rack / workbench.
