Floating Stairs
I'm working on a site and need to build 6 sets of single stringer floating steps. The tube will be 4x6 and the risers will cut from the same material. I have done these in the past, but in place which makes the calculating a little easier.
Does anybody know of software, or an easier "trick" to layout the stringer? Thanks, CR |

Re: Floating Stairs
Max rise should be <=8". run of 11". We need total rise and total run. I am assuming the stringer to be in the center with other 4x6 pcs coped into it? And a bigger tread added to that? Or is the stringer only on one end?

Re: Floating Stairs
Yes, 4x6 centered, and coped 4x6 risers. I understand how to calculate stringers, but mono stringers are a bit different. The risers are built up from the stringer as opposed to a standard double stringer where the top edge of the channel is the nose of the tread.
