I've been thrown into the ring.

I'm an electricians apprentice at the moment. The company I work for has a growing need for a welder on staff to weld structures for mounting solar panels. They chose me to go to welding school and are preparing for me to start welding for them.

Nobody in this small company of less than ten people has any welding experience so I'm here to learn as much as I can.

Any tips? Anybody do what I'm going to be doing? I need all the help I can get.

Hi Ya Green Welder and Welcome to the Welding Web Family. We have a General Welding Questions forum which would be the best place for your questions. You might want to wander over to both the Miller and Lincoln web sites! Both sites have some of the best welding educational material that is available online for free.

Re: I've been thrown into the ring.

Sounds like a good opportunity for you and a boss with some sense. U must be a good worker for him to focus on you. Try a local Jr College maybe also, sometimes they have good welding programs.

When U get good at it, come to the ranch and build me a set up. I'd like to use some of that free energy beaming down on me in Az.

ps: please note the brand I like, U can't go wrong with US made welders
