New from Alberta, Canada

Hello

First off I've farmed for 30+ years and have repaired, modified or built my own equipment.

I've welded for more years than that but only professionally for about 15 years.

I hope to learn from all of you and maybe pass on a little I know.

Leo

Re: New from Alberta, Canada

Hello, Just found this forum this morning. Been fruit farming in Ontario for 30+ years. Have had a stick welder for most of that time but only have average skills becase I just don't get enough practice. I'm thinking about getting a used tig welder, and from my research it looks like a Miller syncrowave 250 is a good choice. I plan to teach myself to tig weld just like I've picked up the other skills I have. My question is, are any of the instruction DVDs on tigwelding any good? If so, which ones? I realize that tig is quite a bit more complicated than stick, so would I be better off if I took a course or got an experienced welder to teach me?
Thanks, Bob

Re: New from Alberta, Canada

Thanks for the welcome

Farmer, High River has some nice scenery.

Weldor, after all it's Canada, tough to keep warm.

canujun, a video would probably help but there is nothing like personal instruction. If you have oxy/ac welded there are similarities.
