Re: Jack Stands - Need Help!
For something that heavy we've always used solid blocking, railroad ties, scrap chunks of wide flange or large dia. heavy wall pipe. How high do you need these to be? How much adjustment do they need/want? Can they simply be fixed height instead? (this makes it a lot simpler)

Re: Jack Stands - Need Help!
I would be more than happy to build something like that but no way would I design it. Too much weight and liability.

Re: Jack Stands - Need Help!
Copy some designs?
I like the square tube pin-style stands myself. Easy to make and strong as hell:

Re: Jack Stands - Need Help!
Sorry for the huge pictures. Looks like Oxygen454 and I are on the same page...however Norco stuff is VERY expensive. The jackstands he posted are over $200, and the ones I posted are over $330! You can build a dozen of them for that price!

Re: Jack Stands - Need Help!
$300 is not at all expensive. You could not build a dozen of them for that. You may be able to buy a dozen's worth of material for that, but $300 would not cover the labor to cut up the material for a dozen, much less put them together.
