how can i tell how old my sa-200 is when the faceplate has beed changed?

after a few years of dedicated service i am looking to do some upgrades to my year unknown sa-200 and am searching for ways to tell a rough age on it.
any ideas? i am unable to locate any serial#s or plates other than an indecipherable one on the generator and clearly the plate has been changed as there are a different set of mounting holes present
i do know this unit sat for over 30 years on the property the guy i purchased it from....he also told me the previous owner of the property said it was on site when HE purchased the land in the 70's.

Find the code number on the barrel of the machine and call stumpfs. They can give you a rough estimate of the year by the code number.
