Weld & Machine

An Accessory drive shaft out of a Cat 6 cyl diesel. An oil seal had worn it down about .020.

Okay, what am I missing..................... It appears you tried to repair a worn shaft that was grenaded?!?!

The first shot shows the worn area partially welded while the second shows the same area (on the other side of the shaft) after machining. In Pic.2, the 'stuff' at the top right is remnants of insulation (shown at left in Pic. 1) that stuck, I'd guess.
