Fatty Bumper- FINISHED!

Hey guys, I finally finished my Fatty Bumper/ Grilleguard I started a few months ago.

Here are a few piks:

I made it out of 10"x 15.7#/foot C-Channel and I used 3/8" steel for the Grille Guard, and the tubes are also a massive 3/8" wall diameter

It is hooked up VERY securly to the frame using the stock mounts AND a set that I fabbed up that has a fat bolt that goes thru the frame... Needles s to say, it is very beefy, sturdy, HEAVY,and is not going anywhere, lol

Oh, and did I mention it is HEAVY hahaha, We used an engine hoist to set it on the truk heh heh

What you guys think?

Re: Fatty Bumper- FINISHED!

May i suggest that you do some grinding of the edges of the grill guard, it looks (in the pics) that there are "ridges", that if somebody rubs against it they could get cut . Or, am i seeing something that is not there ? sorry, if i am wrong .

AlaskaRedneK,
Looks great, does it affect the steering?
GF left Eagle River a few days ago , now I know why , wasn't
anything to do with me ... she saw that Nissan Quest squashing bumper and hi-tailed it to Canada and the Southbound ferry.

Gordon.

LOL!

Thanks guys, and Roy, I believe you are talking about this:

That is a strip of like 3/4" flat bar I heated up and bent over the pillars to make it more smooth. But thanks for catching the edges.

Now, to make a rear bumper

I have the S10 pickup and I dont think it will carry that much weight in the bed ... toning down sounds like a good idea.

centexslim reminded me of a joke a texan tole me at Mare Island shipyard. Seems like a texan was caught speeding by the Texas Rangers , asked why the speeding ? He replied I am going to the liquor store, i ran out of BEER . the Ranger said , "oh , we better give you a police escort to the store ".
