Aluminum shelf

here are some pics of a aluminum desktop shelf i made for my computer room
I made very thing in the room desk wise out of aluminum and thought I need some more display shelf's in here i think in total theres a 1 8x4x1/8 sheet of aluminum checker plate used in here about 15ft of 2 1/4 pipe 6 ft of 5/8 rod and 50ft of 8x1 1/4 aluminum planks used to make very thing up
blame the wife she said its your room do it how you want

Looks good, was the rod stock used for the webbing aluminum too?

Looks like a little O.C.C. influence? I actually met them, Paul Sr & Jr, at a bike show in PA two years ago. We disagreed on what made good design, then I futher upset Jr by telling him I prefered Russell Mitchell's (Exile Cycle) approach to design.

Great looking shelf Wello, wow that aluminum chequer plate is expensive.

I really like the web, I have never tried that.

I am only allowed to do my own thing out in the workshop. (maybe that's why I spend so much time there!.)

i watch the falcons and the holdens battle it out during the winters here on speed channel

i like that racing better than nascar here

yeah there great to watch zapster I been to a few rounds to watch them live one of our aussie drivers is over there now trying to make it nascar
my older brother has a factory in queensland and he builds the chassis for some of the Ford teams

you buy the sheet like that MicroZone its raised patten many used as a tread plate or floor floors that need grip

yep I used 1/4 aluminum rod to make the web imagineer I saw then do it on OCC and though I would try it in aluminum

Here is the aussie racing over there zap he name is Marcos Ambrose he was V8 champ 2 yrs running he is having a bit of trouble getting use to driving around in circles over there

Ah, the old Falcons. Great cars.
A tenant of mine a few years ago had two 64 two doors (hardtops). One was his daily driver and the other - a rare one imported from the States was a project.
I let him park the project in my backyard when I went away one Christmas to do some work to it.
It was in very good condition. His plan was to prep it for painting and drive it to the paint shop after a couple of weeks. That project car was then going to be his daily driver and he was going to get rid of the other one.
So he took the lights and bumpers off, took the front and rear screens out etc.
Then I went away.
I came back two weeks later and found him sitting on the ground with the whole wiring loom on his lap.
At some point while I was away (and probably when he was ****ed) he'd crossed the line and headed down the show car route. I shook my head and laughed - I'd warned him not to head there.
So then the radiator came out, and the carbie etc. All the interior trim and dash came out. After 6 months in my backyard, he got it towed to a shop somewhere for the engine to come out.
He went there every weekend for another 6 months to work on the car.
Then it became once a fortnight.
And once a month.
He moved out about about eighteen months ago. I suspect that project still isn't on the road. And if it ever does get finished he'll be so paranoid about it that he won't want to drive it.

I still very occasionally get Craig's copy of the local Falcon Club newsletter/magazine thingy. The fact that he didn't give them his new address could mean his project is still under a tarp at the back of some shop somewhere and he is trying to forget about his Falcon years.

Send me your address and if another copy shows up I'll send it to you instead of Craig.

I too like Russells no frills apporch to chopper building, the Scotty Cox from AZ does some amazing work with AL, all by hand and no fillers......
