how do these look?

i have less than 30 minutes of welding expierience.tell me the good and bad.i am starting my welding classes next month at my tech college.

looks good for the first time next,pipe to flat plate, pipe to pipe flat to flat and your on your way oh and do a 90 keep up the practice. learn all ya can at school and be safe

nice looking beads
in the first pic the bead on the left looks best, the other two look a little religious (got a crater, and what looks like a little porosity towards the end of the other bead) holy beads like that may be the result of poor gas coverage. what were all your settings?
a little off center on the pipe, if your having trouble seeing the joint you may want to try a lighter shade on your hood (comfort and vision!). if not keep up the practice, your doing good. = }

the porosity seemed to happen when gusts of wing blew in the garage.i am not sure what the settings were.i went by the chart under the cover.

dont people usually find smaw harder to do than gmaw.i picked up a ac225 lincoln today from a guy at work fo $50.00 today.i can make better looking beads with stick welder.is that normal.i have always heard stick is harder to learn.

i'm thinkin' your just a natural..
some people just "meld" with a welder...

post pics of what you welded with the stick and what amps and rods you use...

size etc..

..zap!

i will tomorrow after work.i will post a pic of my girlfriends weld also she surprised me how good she is. her first bead of weld is almost as good as mine!!!!

looking good I have a tradesman at work that would be doing good get welds like that
if you keep going like that once you start tech you'll have a bright future in the trade well done
