Clarke 180EN Doesnt weld!

I bought a Clarke 180en a couple years ago brand new. And to this day I have yet to get it to work right. I first used it with some flux core and it kinda welded then got gas and unshieled wire and it doesnt weld anything pretty much. And using it with either wire you have to have the heat allthe way up and speed all the waydown or it wont even start an arc most times. ITs supper frustrating. I really need to know if anyone had the same problem and or if anyone can tell me how to fix it. I checked the power and its runnin off a 220 has never blown a fuse or breaker. But to me it seems the damn thing just cant get hot enough to penetrate the metal. I mean there is pretty much no penetration on any metal. Please help Please.
