Strand Flexible Shaft Machine
A friend of mine dropped this off at the shop, it belonged to his uncle that recently passed away. It's a N.A. Strand flex shaft machine, the brochure that came with it is dated 1974. It has a 3/4 HP Baldor motor,3450 rpm.It takes 1/4" shaft accessories, and came with a guard for grinding and cut off wheels.
I searched and can't find anything on the company. The thing is built like a tank,it makes a Foredom tool look like toy! Do you guys know anything about these? Has anyone used one? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Strand Flexible Shaft Machine
Here's the brochure that came with it.
![]() ![]() ![]() Close up of spec chart. If the 830 is the price, that's a lot of money in 1974 dollars!

Re: Strand Flexible Shaft Machine
I actually used to have a couple of these. Mine had been outfitted with even larger motors. The buffing heads I had required the increased Hp. They are not bad machines and yours looks much better than mine ever did.
I never really found a use for them though. I have a smaller foredom with gear reducer and accessories, and that gets more use however still very little compared to the others I sold. If you are like me, they will sit a LOT of the time. May come in handy for that one special job so long as you have the right accessories. Grant
