Cart for my miller roughneck 1e

Well was excited to get my welder running again and remembered the pain in the a$$ it was to move it around so I decided to make a cart for it. I grabed some scrap pieces from aroud the shop and this is what I came up with

Need to find some material for some handles and maybe some cable holders.

Some handles and cable wraps will come in handy. I'd think about rerouting that exhaust so it's not blowing in your face when you adjust the machine. Looks like it will fit well between the engine and generator unit. Either that or point it straight up(if it's not left in the rain) or straight out the back. Those options will give you more room on the sides for the leads to go.

Yeah that exhaust has been like that since picked it up. I was thinking about changing it .

If you want to save even more headache, you might consider replacing that front leg with a free wheeling wheel (technical terms have never been my forte, but a wheel that can spin a free 360 degrees!)

Its a 12 hp kohler.

I was looking at that today and found a smashed shopping cart with some casters that may work,

Looking good Will.

You may want to consider moving the axle/tires a little closer to the center to take some weight off the panel end. That'll make it easier on the casters you're thinking of using off the grocery cart (buggy down here ). Especially if you plan on hanging the leads on there end as would be typical.

Hey duane you are so right about that. I put some make sift handles on it and that baby is heavy, was considering on moving the wheels forward a little.

It has a bracket on the end by the tip. You can't see it in the picture but its there.

Well been doing a little practicing here's some 7018 flat.

And here is some vertical up that my friend told me I should try to master.

OK fellas what am I doing wrong 7018 rod 1/8" welder settings rough 100-140 fine adjustment 50%.
