Trailer
Here's a trailer I built for the company I work for. It's an ATV trailer that holds 110 gallons of fuel or diesel plus has basket on top for storage.
I built two, both tow straight, no fishtailing, at 40 miles an hour. All was done on a millermatic 185 mig welder with CO2/Argon mix, .35 wire I'm am amatuer welder. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Trailer
It's going to South America.
No, it's 110 gallons, I have three baffles in it to prevent fuel from sloshing too much. |

It looks very nice! You could get away with putting gasoline in it in most of South America, but don't try that here. Diesel would be much safer, of course. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I lived in Colombia for six months last year. They certainly do what they gotta do. And they don't manage to have more Darwin Awards that the US does. |

Re: Trailer
A 110 gallons of fuel is a lot of weight to get moving behind an ATV
. No stopping on downhill slopes, for sure .Looks like the whole storage cage plus side brackets lift off for removal of the tank?? IS this going to be a multi purpose rig? Looks great BTW.

The tank and cage is removeable, the side bars are not. I'm going to build a skid for an air compressor/plasma cutter/miller Bluestar 185DX to work on equipment in the field. |

One of my best friends that I met while in Colombia is a brilliant electrical engineer. Do I assume all Colombians are brilliant engineers (and can drive like Juan Pablo Montoya) because of this, especially compared to their next-door neighbors, the dumb Venezuelans? My goodness, how in the world do those dumb Venezuelans manage to hang on to all that oil production and live one of the more affluent average lifestyles in South America being so dumb? I know you were trying to be funny, but even racism-in-passing touches a nerve. Yes, I've also been to Venezuela. |

Re: Trailer
actualy to not know you can add watter to a battery is not a verry good judge any way, lots of people dont have a clue as to that, no matter where they live, heck my latest step mother can barly put gas in her car much less tell you what's in the battery, not shore she even knows what it looks like or where its at. she is a phsycologest, plenty of book lernin but ant got a clue about day to day stuff we all take for granet.

Re: Trailer
is the water thing only on diesel batteries, or large industrial batteries or what? i've heard of putting water in batteries before but it definitely wouldnt be the first thing to come to mind if i was driving a truck and it wouldn't start.
and is there any kind of suspension on the trailor? i guess airing down the tires would give it some decent bump absorption, but crappy tire wear. |

Re: Trailer
any non sealed battery will take water insted of the intended acid to top it off if its low, he thought of the battery needing fluid because it would not keep a charge, provided it has not over heated and shorted out the cells you can top it off with water and it will turn to acid as it charges if there is enough in it to start the process, best to use distiled watter if battery acid is not available. most newer battery are sealed so its becomming les of a thing in auto battery but still verry comen in lawn mowers and motorcycles.
