lincoln promate 140
in the local classifieds their is a lincoln promate 140 for sale for $450.00. i was wondering if it was a desent by? it says it comes with cart 3 spools of wire and welding hood. says used very little like new. i never heard of that model of mig welder . just wondering of it is worth going to look at. its in wv somewhere i'm from md.

Power Mig 140 or Pro-Mig 140C? It will make a big difference in the answers people will give you on this forum. I am not familiar with a promate.

They do not make a ProMate, but if it is a 140T, or a tapped setting machine, they are the Home Depot and Lowes version, you should be able to get one used for around $250, $350 with a bottle. If it is a newer 140C, that is the industrial version with cast aluminum internals and continuous amp settings, a much better welder which should be around $400-$500 without a bottle.
