I have a 2050 plasma cutter with a hand torch. I recently picked up a Hypertherm machine torch. I see the pin outs are a little different. can the Hypertherm be used on the Miller, what would I change? Thanks.

Maybe ask Jim from Hypertherm at this site.

If the amperage and number of poles (blades) are the same, then you might be able to use the same plug. For example, there are more than one style of 50A 4-wire plugs.
If these are different amperage (you should be able to tell by the wire gauge), or a different number of poles, then it gets more complicated. Starting at p. 16 of this document is a diagram of the plug/receptacle types. Identify which has which and post back if you still have questions. http://www.cooperwiringdevices.com/c..._REFERENCE.pdf For example, my welder is 50A with 3 conductors, so I wired it with a 5-50. |
