Is This WeldPak 100 a Good Deal?

Hello. I am new to the forum, and am not yet a welder.

I am looking at a Lincoln WeldPak 100 with the gas conversion and new tanks for of Argon and 25/75 mix, plus a cart. It has supposedly only been used 5 times. The guy wants $450 for it all.

1. Does this sound like a good deal?

2. How much of the gas kit will be useable if I decide the 100 is too small for what I want to do and want to move up to a 220v model?

Thanks.

Sounds like a decent deal when you throw in the gas bottles considering they are a hundred bucks or more a piece depending on how large they are. See if its still under warranty you should be good to go. The 110v migs don't do much of the thick stuff but with flux they can do decent. You'll probably want a 220v unit for any type of angle iron or anything with any sort of thickness. Let us know what you get.

I've got WELDPAK 100 and I just recently converted to gas. I love welding with it. If the tank is a #90 and the ownership is free and clear it is a good deal. Around here a 90 tank is $200 from National Welders. But I tell you for a fact that it is a fine machine, you won't be welding any 1/2" plate at the nuclear plant, but I stand by mine.

yeah that sounds like a fair deal to me aswel, as for using the gas on a bigger machine, I'd think only the bottle would do you much good depending on its size, if you buy a new 220v welder it would most likly come with everthing but the bottle.
