Since it's getting close!

Valentines Day... I've been messing around in the shop and decided to build a few of these.
I hope I can remember my pic posting skills!

Very nice and detailed work. Great job. What material - gauge and how do you get the veines in the leaves like that.

Re: Since it's getting close!

Thank you Jammer! The materials are 20 ga and 22 ga sheet,3/16 and 1/8 pencil rod. I just vein the leaves with a cold chisel. I really enjoy making them but they do take some time! I'm finding that the 20 ga is more suitable to work with. The 22 is a bit to thin.

Questweld:

Do you have any pictures of your process of making these.
I would like to try my hand at it.
Wife loves roses......

Thanks.

Re: Since it's getting close!

Stampeder I have one in the build process right now but it's already over halfway finished. I'll make a note to snap more pics on the next build so I can share the process!

Re: Since it's getting close!

Clee16 I can generally go from start to finish on one of these in day if nothing else gets in the way but here lately it seems to be taking about 3 days to get through the process!

Re: Since it's getting close!

Beautiful work! I enjoy making them myself. I get requests for them all the time. So hard to put a price on them because they take so long to make and put a finish on them. I usually give them away as gifts for the most part. Great job.

Re: Since it's getting close!

Thanks weldermike! I started making these a few months ago and have had great luck with them. They are selling just as fast as I can make them. I have a general idea when I start one of how I want it to be and then it just takes on a life of its own before it's finished! It's just too cool and after all the years I put in doing construction work it's nice to work on something that's not backbreaking!

Re: Since it's getting close!

Weldermike that looks awesome! I'm hoping to do a few things on that order that incorporates 2 or more roses. Great work Brother!

Stampeder I'll try to get them thrown up here this coming week if no other jobs pop into the shop!
