Welding bed

Hello I am new to this site and I am looking for some helpfull hints on building a welding bed for my Dodge 1 ton. I am a journeyman pipe welder but have never built a welding bed. I've just bought a SA-200 Lincoln, and I am ready to rig out my truck. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am also looking for plans or tips on building a welding bed, I don't want to spend allot of time trying to build one up from scratch. I did a search on the internet and have come up with nothing except places that build and sell them, but there a little fancy for my taste. I have a 1992 chevy short bed truck and wanted to try to use it till I can afford something else. If anyone runs into a good place where I/we could find more info please let me know.

I am cheap and lazy. I picked up 2 old dock leveling plates that were removed at a local supermarket. After they installed the new ones, the old ones were mine for the taking. They measure 7' X 7' have diamond plate on the top, and more supports underneath than you would ever need. They are really solid.
