Stainless Rods?
Can someone tell me where they have ordered 309L-16 or 308L-16 rods at less than 10# at a time? I can't see to find any place local that carries them in smaller quantity, all they have for stainless is a universal rod that they sell 6 rods for $22.00! Also can someone tell me if a 309L-17 rod can be used with AC?
Thanks RON |

Re: Stainless Rods?
I just went through this last month. I lucked out and found that one of the local welding supply places had an open box of Lincoln Red Baron 308-16L at one of their other stores (60 miles away). One of their guys who runs between the stores brought some back with him and I ended up getting 3 lbs for $30. Otherwise, they (and their local competitors) wanted me to buy an entire box (8-10 lbs depending on the manufacturer).
The only other way to do it would be to find another welder who needs some and split a box. Good luck. Dave |

Re: Stainless Rods?
Thanks guys, I'll get in touch with some other welders I know and see if we can double/triple up on some rods. Good idea. I'll check out that web site now.RON |
