need help

I have a generater that has a 220 30 amp out put, my question is can I run a stick welder like this one on it? Lincoln Electric
AC225S Welder

Model K1170 any other options?

It comes with a 6-50 plug so it might be too much for the generator. You can always try using it on a low setting. I would imagine on the higher setting it may set off or pop the breaker or fuse on the generator. I'm sure others will chime in.

I don't think you will get much out of the welder before you start popping breakers or fuses.

If the generator really puts out 30 amps of 240 volt ac you might get be able to get 120 amps or so before popping the breaker.

I'll go with tresi. Depends a bunch on the real output of the generator. What is the ouput rating in run-watts anyway?
