I just read a Harbor Freight online sale that listed a 220 volt mig for $249.00 that will weld up to 18 gauge. Looks like a great deal. :cool2:

It is basically a 110V welder - very low amp. There was another user who just bought one. Save your money and buy a Hobart, Clarke or Lincoln from Home Depot.

I just posted the info with tongue in cheek. I thought it pretty humorous that a 220 volt mig machine would be advertised to weld up to 18 gauge steel - 1/20th of an inch thick. I have a 110 volt Century that meets all of my light needs. I've used it on projects up to 3/8ths thick, if I'm comfortable with the strength demands. Or, I just grab my Lincoln buzzbox for the real stuff.
