View Full Version : Trading MillerMatic 140 for Hobart Handler 187

Went to put the cart that came with the welder together and it was missing the hardware kit. Nothing in stock so I got a refund. I am now considering the Hobart Handler 187. Probably pick one up next week. Will wire a receptacle to the house and get an extension to run it.

Any thoughts on the Hobart, good or bad. Or should I stick with Lincoln or Miller?

The Hobarts are a good machine. I think equally as good as the consumer line for either Lincoln or Miller. Hobart no longer makes an Industrial line of welders.

I have an HH 187 and really like it, works great.

Performance wise, the HH 187 is a very good unit. I field tested the original prototype HH 187 for close to a year, and couldn't come up with anything that made me dislike the unit. I've also owned a HH 187 for over 1.5 years now, and still like the unit as much as I did after my first time running the original prototype.
