So I tried MIG welding 319 cast with .035 4043 in my Hobart 187. I used a brand new teflon liner and still have feeding problems even on the lowest tension setting. LWS suggested 5356 wire as its a harder compound. The job will ultimately be powder coated but exposed to the elements. Any thoughts? Anyone tried this before? I am trying avoid buying a new machine and spool gun. This is a large job and TIG isnt a viable option.

Thanks,

RG

4043 doesn't feed very well, too soft.
Buy the 5356 as recommended and call it done
