Hood that shows grind mode

I was building a cart today with lots of weld, grind repeat. And a couple of times my hood was in grind mode and I struck an arc and quickly realized that. Is there a hood with an led inside to tell you that you are in grind mode? I prefer a longer front hood because my cheap hf one is too short and my neck is getting some light expecially when tigging.

Since you are wearing safety glasses (you are aren't you) just flip up the lid to grind. That's what I do.

Hard for me to see properly to grind with the lid at shade 3 anyway :)

I went to my lws this weekend to get a gas extension hose and LOOK at some hoods, and ended up leaving with a Lincoln Viking 3350. It does not have a light or anything but for the price of the hood I'll be swapping it for my face shield when grinding.

I have used the Lincoln hood every day since I bought it. I really like the big window and it seems clearer than my old hood. For the price of it I have been switching to my face shield to cut/grind. The only negative is that I have to turn the sensitivity way down for outside or it will stay dark.
