Ok, gained my composure a little.

I've known Doug prolly close to nine years best I can recall. Met him over on Microzone. Spoken to him on the phone, lots in PMs and stuff. Gave me some great advice and I looked up to him as someone I wanted to emulate in attitude and action. He was here in Michigan a few years back and I wanted to hook up with him but it just didn't happen. I wish now it would have. He was also very generous. Gave me some stuff and wouldn't take a dime for it. Even on shipping.

He was always the moderator who had a level head and could bring us together on stuff. I regarded him as a sincerely good friend and fellow administrator of this site. It was funny, when I was invited to become a mod, I suggested to steve that Doug be made one too. Little did I know he had already been asked as well. :)

I've been on the road working the last several weeks and just heard of this today. Gamble texted me as a matter of fact. I also want to thank Bob and Dave for posting about it. I haven't been on IFI for awhile, or I likely would have known sooner.

I'm really gonna miss him. Obviously, I'm not the only one who feels that way. Such a huge loss for the site, as well as for those who knew him personally.

Life is so very fragile. How often we are reminded of it when something like this happens.

Just heard about it from 7A. Will surely be missed.

This site has some great mods, and they do a fantastic job:cool:. I just liked and respected Doug’s style. Man I feel like I lost a close friend! :(

I still can't believe it. We talked last week about him coming be me for our "Weldorama''. We were talkin on who had more of a stash. I think he won for sure. He and I both were thrilled on getting together and doing some Blacksmith stuff and havin some fun. HE was the main reason for getting together so we could share him with other members. It still hasn't sunk in ; it will not be the same without him. RIP buddy .

I wish I could have gotten to know him better..sad news and sorry to hear it. I wish for the best for his family and friends in this hard time

My sincere condolences for the family. He will be missed.

never met him.

never personally talked to him.

im not surprised by the amount of hurt i feel for his loved ones. just by reading his posts, i know he was a good man, i always considered his word to be THE word in any thread i saw him in.

sad news indeed. my condolences go out to anybody reading this, as i know you feel the same way, and likely from a more personal level.
