That's a lot of magnet for the money... as long as it doesn't start causing arc blow issues you should be good...
 
Are you trying to hold the bar down to the table?
Or hold the bar so it doesn't slide?
Two magnets might be better.
Here is a pic of two ways to use the magnets. One is flat to the table and the bar butted up against it. The other magnets is tipped at an angle and hold the plate down

Somebody please compare the magnet moto referenced with the original Magswitch with a similar rating.
