Which direction does the flat or curved side face when installed in the helmet?
All I found on the interweb was (curved side faces out)
Out toward your eyes or out towards the helmet?

Have you tried holding the lens up to your eyes! The curved side should face out away from your eyes. In reality, you're overthinking this.

ive heard to put the diopter number markings towards your face (they would be readable in this orientation and this would put the curved side of lens facing inward aswell)

I just put cheaters in my hood. Optrel made it real easy, as the lens will only go in one way. That's with the curved side facing towards my eyes.

do you happen to have a photo ? even in the owners manuals of various helmets it says nothing about which direction they go. part of me keeps thinking the curved goes toward your eyes and part of me thinks curved goes away from your eyes like glasses.

i like to over think everything. more i think it does kinda seem like the curved should go toward the eyes which puts the flat side against the adf. that seems to make more sense to me anyways. and if optrel specifically puts it that same way

The lens has a little ledge that sticks out the left/right edges( see first photo ). It slips into a groove in the auto shade cartridge on the left( see second phot with the scribe pointing to the groove ). The right side gets trapped by the latch. When properly in place, the curved surface is facing you, and you can see the diopter, 2.00 in this case, along with the Z87.1 rating.( see photo three )

interesting. ive always put the curved outward (never knew any better) but that would appear to be the wrong way. guess ill be flipping them around the other way

i didnt notice much difference either way but jeffs photo removes all doubt. atleast in my mind
yes the photos clear things up.

But I agree, I've never noticed a difference....

But I don't usually pay close attention.... cuz most of the time it falls out when I'm in the middle of something or trying to put the lid on with my gloves on in a tight location...
Then, WHAT in the Phuck! take off the gloves... pick it up and slap it in again... :realmad:

I think the clip is broken on one side.... maybe..... only happens once in a while .... gotta check that out someday..

thanks Jeff.
