Is that a cast tinknocker's bed plate hiding in the bench behind the vise?

Can I borrow the green one, for a few years, stakes included of course?

I already know the answer but I had to ask.

Ah. No those are 1.25 and 2” receivers. (Not tapered)

As for the stake plate you’re welcome to USE it, but the commute might get a little old.

    Thanks for the invite Terry.
IF I'm in your neighborhood I'll probably stop by.
Art trees overhanging the street trimmed to 12.5 feet of clearance? AC units are insanely expensive.

You don't mind I'll just knock on the door, or hit the airhorn if the dog(s) don't look friendly.

I still got memories of what can happen to people who go in buildings they don't own.

Just interesting well made ones I’ve come across and a few smaller Records that were still made in England that were too cheap to pass up.

I just bought a Morgan Chicago 45 in pretty fair shape. I was told it was made between the 1930s to 1940s, but i can't find much info on it. I plan on restoring it and would like to find out what colors they were painted.

Is there any kind of literature showing how old this vise could be?

    Re: A Bench Vise Thread...

Accidentally came across this thread. Made me think, I should clean and lube mine! My father gave me this about 30 years ago.
Took it apart, cleaned and greased. The locking pawls on the base were installed incorrectly, so fixed that. Always wondered why I had to crank down on the locks so hard to keep it from turning.
    Smooooooth operation now!

I pulled this guy out of storage the other day, need to make a mount for it so I can get it out of the way on my bench.
