    how bout somthing like this

    http://store.cyberweld.com/spwehecrexco.html

planning on getting one for my helmet
I usually wear a hoodie, with the hood up it usually blocks most of the light coming in the back and reflecting of the screen... another thing is keeping the lenses as clean as possible the light reflects off of the dirt/dust on the lenses and makes it harder to see through...

I just bought a Miller Digital Elite.

    I hope I like it.

3m Speedglass I have been using for 3 years. I would never buy anything else. Its light and fits better than any other helmet that I have used.

If u want to block the light from coming in from the sides, the pancake hood is the only way to go. It seals around your eyes. Install an autodarkening 2x4 lens in it from Arc One and you're ready to go. There's a reason why pipeliners use them out in the field when the sun is super bright. Or u can try a FibreMetal pipeliner hood also with an arcone ad lens. This hood tends to be closer to Ur cheeks. Unlike the miller, speedglass, optrel, Lincoln, etc. Of course it varies with the size of ur melon.

This is my main helmet, had it for almost 2 years. It's never given me any problems.

My spare helmet. Got it when I bought the miller 252 a year ago

That Linde hood is quite the looker! is that a rebrand or what?

my trusty old pipeliner. the only hood one ever really needs. I've tried to replace it a few times...keep comming back to it. Got one of the Miller Titaniums with the flip up grinding lens. No auto. fixed shade only for shop work, but hell...i still barely use it.

lit up from my buddy spoolgunning 1/2" 6061.

my buddy at work has on of the new pro hobby or whatever they are. the new head gear is alright, i'm actually not a fan of it. didn't work well with any type of welding hat or beanie. doesn't stay very tight. puts more pressure on the front of the two top bands than the back.

Your milege may very of course. he likes it, alot. and another guy swapped in into an older one to the tune of $22, but i haven't talked to him about it.

I guess I'll have to go back to the head nod helmet for the weekend. . I've had my Lincoln solar AD helmet for 4 years and never had a problem with it.

Last night I was welding outside and the helmet just quit working while I was welding, and I woke up at 2:30am this morning with burnt eyes.

If I hold the helmet up to a light, It just blinks. . . I'm going to leave it out in the sun all day and see if that "might" help.

I use a speedglas 9002 hood. I'm pretty happy with it!
My next hood will be a 9100 series or an Optrel

I use a Speedglas 9100XX. The Kemppi came with my new MasterTig MLS 2300 ACX. Initially I was thinking about selling it but I like its looks even if I will never use it for anything other than TIG (would hate to ruin the colors).

The helmet I would like to try is the Speedglas SL

360gr for a helmet with ADF sounds very interesting.

    I got a Jackson NexGen W60.
I've only tried stick welding with it a little bit but I gotta say I really like it. It's crisp, clean and super clear. It can be set to be so sensitive that it darkens when I look out a window. I can adjust the shading as well as how long it takes to return to transparent.

I was just a trifle leery of an auto dark because I was having a hard time imagining that some of the UV, which is traveling at light speed, would not slip past the darkening function because it has to detect and respond and it is limited to light speed. So it just seemed to me that it was behind the eight ball from the get go having to run around in a circle while the UV was traveling straight.

But, to my great happiness, it's flawless.

I bought a Miller Black Digital Performance hood yesterday. . Its a nice helmet and I really like the new headgear on it! . . I'll have to get use to the digital settings. . The viewing area is a little larger than the Lincoln hood that quit working.

I wanted a helmet that took triple-A batteries, But they didn't have anything that I liked. . But at least you can change the batteries in the Miller. . It also has a 3 year warranty.

I bought the helmet at my LWS for $180.00 after tax, and also bought a new cheater lens. . The cheater lens is much better than the Hobart CL that I have. . Its made of plastic, and the new one is glass.

    Here's some pictures.

Also some pictures of my old Pipeliner Hood with a gold lens that I used when I was a welder underground in the coalmines.

I forgot where I put it, and I looked for it and found it when the Lincoln POS quit working. . I had it in a bag with all my coalmine gear that I used to wear. . I had to give it a good cleaning and a wax job!

I use either my Miller with a fixed #10 gold lens or my HF autodarkening.

3m speedglas 9100fx with XX filter. Great helmet for welding and cutting. Only for welding i would take the normal 9100.

^^^I like that new miller digital. Mine is the older model and I think it has 2 sensors on the top and 1 on the bottom, but I'll double check tomorrow. I also just got the new headgear and can't wait to put it on.

I have a jackson HaloX with a gold #12 lense and the newer headgear. I love its light weight and the headgear is still holding up good after a few years. I also have a miller mp 10 I bought when they first came out, pretty good hood light and flexible But I got tired of buying specail cover lensed and the headgear didnt hold up very well.

Been using a Halo-X with a Weldmark AD insert for a couple years. Always works. Wanted lighter weight for use with hardhat.
