Gotta wonder... If these people actually know what their stuff is worth and are just trying to make a nice profit over what they paid, or if they paid WAY too much and are just trying to recover their loss and screw over someone else...

Or maybe they paid too much and still don't realize it...

I would like to use this thread to also point out the poor quality of posts on Craigslist.....

Within 61 days in boot camp I learned there is something to be said for attention to detail....

and an upside down blurry picture is unsat (unsatisfactory) shipmate........

Remember the old Stihl Chain saw commercial where they hooked a chain and drug it behind a vehicle down a back road? It looks like that is what the guy did with that Lincoln 225 buzz box welder.

Re: this is the stuff I was talking about!

Ive been somewhat dealing with this loser

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Miller-Suitc...item20d03ec457

I emailed the guy. Wife says he'll "let it go" for 1200 without gun. I explained nicely that it's 11 years old, lacks the meters, and a new one is $1600 delivered with a new Q300 gun. I offered $800, got zero response back. Told him he'd be lucky to even get a bid at 850.

Guy listed it twice with $850 start bid, no bids. So now the genius puts a used maybe $100 mig gun on it and jacks the starting bid up to this.

I'm following the thing around eBay and CL just for laughs.

Oh, and he's starting bids on a used Miller foot pedal which can be yours at a steal for $220.

Here's my guy again. Now on CL

    http://newyork.craigslist.org/que/tls/3686307183.html

Great sales strategy. If no one bids or offers you what you want, raise the price. Even when he entire world is looking on eBay and you're shipping for free.

The A$$clowns gonna rack up ebay fees.

    Entertaining.

This is not my add - I did not make up this add to post on CL so I could repost it here. Occasionally, in my vast search of useful or useless tool and equipment, I come across some stuff that totally blows me away. This is a prime example of that. I have included the orginal link, but in case it gets taken down I have posted it below; somewhat refined.

Liquid jet welder nitrogen flux converter - $50000 (or best offer)

I got this here thang, I dont know what it is but I know its worth lots of money. Its been sitting outside in the weather for several decades and I bought it for $40. But I am so fookin' stupid, I think some dumb ***, who is dumber than me (which is really dumb) will pay me $5000 for this because he needs it.
Nobody needed this piece of **** even when it was new. It was made for da gubmint in a kickback deal.

So come on down and buy this here thing whatever it is so I can go buy me some more cigs, booze and meth.

I would appreciate if someone would tell me just exactly wtf this thang is and what it is used fur.

Yea, you would have to be a hard core Snap-On fan to go for that since you can get a new Miller 211, or, if you are a Lincoln guy, a Lincoln 180 dual for less than that little Snap-On 135.

It always amazes me that people are to stupid (or lazy) to do minimal research before listing their tools for sale. Here's a (new) Miller Spectra 625 for almost 25% more than it's newer model replacement costs today.

    http://corvallis.craigslist.org/tls/3697414386.html

Seem's to me it's about $800 over priced.

    Some ads aren't ridiculous...

1974 Miller Dial Arc HF-P for sale. Has radiator and converter for thumb control torch. Also comes with original pedal control. Gas tank not included. I am not sure if this welder works properly or not. Doesnt seem to drive enough heat into the metal no matter what setting. But I am inexperienced on this machine. Asking $100. Call or text George at xxxxx

Just waiting to hear if my son's buddy bought it or not. I was tempted but I already have 2 big blue boxes.

His buddy went brain-dead and didn't call, even though he was only about 15 miles away. For me it would have been around 300 miles round trip.
