That's just not cool. It's like wandering into a car dealer and informing them that in your little opinion their vehicles are junk. Who does that?
Most any scrap yard in the country sees a regular supply of old used vises...some in good repair, some not. I've more than a few salvaged myself...and $1.50 was about the going rate. Some a bit more...paid around $12 for this one at 10 cents @ lb. and about 2/3rds that for the one under it...those are five gallon drywall mud buckets.
As far as being cool and the car dealer analogy goes, let's work it out a bit further. Most of us would walk into that same car dealer and inform the salesman that his prize '86 Yugo "...needing just a little TLC to be an instant classic" is a piece of crap. Think about it...
