Thanks, it use a 3/4" diameter compression spring. To track it you rotate the 3/4" upright tube that has the 1/2" axle bored thru it. When it's tracked you tighten down the locking collar. The 3)4" upright has a keyway cut in it and the 1" tube has a horizontal slot that jives with the locking bolt. When the collar is locked, the upright shaft is stationary.

    batch of stainless trestles

Jig table comes into it's own for this kinda work. I altered it quite a bit after the first full weldments and added a "chocking" stage to counter the warping on the long ends, which have a critical inner dimension.

    Got another 20 to do...

I was travelling too slow in a few areas (the dark blues). But since it was being ground I guess it didn’t matter

Do you cross you arms when riding? I found it hard not to crash when doing so on a non-reverse steering bike.

Okay, that looks interesting. I assume there's a reason for having the bars go one way and the front wheel the other, but I'm an old fart and it would take a long time for me to learn how to ride a bike configured that way.

I work for an Amusement company we operate jet boats, amusement rides and carnival games. This is one of the games. I can't ride the thing but we have a couple of guys that are really good at it. The problem is they have a hard time with a regular bike now.

There was a guy at the fair with this bike. You only had to ride in a straight line for about 10’ and you get 100$, you got 3 tries. and my friends went home and made one. We practiced on it and went back and few of us won 100$ each. His was super loose and crappy. It had a metal box hiding how it works

Thats the same deal we do but locally at a permanent location we don't travel around with it. We have had one for 7-8 yrs. but it was like you said really loose and wasn't serviceable they welded it together where you couldn't replace bearings. So I decided to make a better one.

I’d have to make a cover for that one or one of our customers would for sure figure out how to chop a couple fingers off.

I'm cutting spike pickets, I set up a jig, using my horizontal bandsaw, I have about 150 more to do!!!

This fence will definitely pose a problem for the inexperienced fence jumper

Our neighbor (Nun house) has a fence like that. Been there since I was a kid. Just two years ago they had round rod welded all along the tops of the fence because deer kept getting hung up on it.
