2015 Everlast PowerTig255EXT 110/220 DUAL VOLTAGE with Few more features

We're almost ready to release the 2015 line for the fall. The new PowerTIG 255EXT is on it's way soon. I think this years model has about everything that we could practically put into it and incorporates many common customer requests.
This year we've added a few pleasant features to it.
This years model includes the following new features:

    1) 120V/240V 1 phase capability. Yes, that's right. It's slated for UP to 150 amps on 110V. The three phase has been deleted in favor of dual voltage and the 325EXT will be the 240 1 phase/3phase 480 3 phase capable unit now.
    2) We've added a spot weld timer for unit so that it has similar capability to the 250EX in that regard
    3) We've added purge control so that adjusting regulator settings is not so hard
    4) The new E6010 setting will help improve performance when welding with E6010/6011 rods.
It uses the same case and a few controls have been rearranged but it's parameters are largely unchanged. It's been refined into a more versatile unit without messing with what makes the unit a great unit to have.

Can you do TIG welding without the pulse??
It is too bad you went to digital controls.
They are hard to make changes with gloves on. Vulnerable to damage.
I liked your welders much better when it had analog knobs to control it.

everything is going digital now. the plus side is that there is a lot of individual dedicated buttons as opposed to some machines that have one or 2 buttons that make you scroll through a list every time to change something. My Lincoln V205T was like that and my Miller 350p is also. I really liked the Digital setup on my Lincoln SP250. well designed and usable. descrete buttons for functions and 3 sets of scrolling buttons under the display they corresponded to.

    Yeah,

A bunch of analog knobs will be more efficient in input movements when looking to making a single adjustment or two on one process (other than amps).

But the digital certainly makes up for it when pushing that one memory button/pad to switch to AC TIG, DC TIG, etc.

I mean, BAM, all the previous settings for another process are all there already, where you left them.

I have the 255EXt and love the digital controls. Using TIG gloves I make changes all the time to my unit. Now if I was using my monster Stick gloves it would be more difficult but I think even the knobs would be difficult as well with large heavy gloves.

    I see two major advantages with digital;
    1. More reliable, generally if its working it works great. You don't have to worry about a POT going bad or getting dirty.
    2. You can save all your settings. I find this very helpful when doing a complicated process like pulse TIG.

    Yeah,

The DIGITAL has an advantage, or at least an equitable trade...

What is the POT value of the foot pedal on the 255EXT. I have read that they are supposed to be 47K. Even the 255ext manual says 47/50K. I noticed mine is marked 22K. I kind of noticed I don't have full range on the pedal and this seems to be why.

The new 255ext is 22k, though it can be used with the older 47k as well. In fact it should be able to be used with many different ohm values.
