ALPHA TIG 200X water cooler set up part #1

Installing the 220 volt 20 amp receptacle for your water cooler.

This setup will give you the receptacle to run your water cooler so you don't need to turn the cooler on every time you turn on the welder. When you turn on your welder the receptacle gets power and the cooler comes on ( you leave the switch on the cooler on all the time).

I will try to post these pictures in order from start to finish, but sometimes it will post them in the wrong order.Name: STA77718.JPG

Remove covers and find a good place to install the receptacle

Then mark the place to drill the hole with a hole saw, this one was 1 3/8"

Remove receptacle so you can wire it. You will need 3 pieces of 12 gauge wire about 12" long and some wire ends. Make up the wires and install them on the receptacle and install the receptacle in the welder.

Remove power wires from power PCB and install them on the wire ends you installed on your wires and wire tie them. Next install the wires on the PCB in the same places you took them off of.

Make sure you clean all the metal shavings from in side the welder from drilling the holes (blow them out with air). In stall the cover and front panel and start all the screws (don't tighten them) install the rear panel and see were the plug is, memove the panel and remove the vent fins from the panel. Install the rear panel and handle install the screws and tighten them.

    Maybe or maybe not.

But I really don't care this welder is not under warranty anyway.

If you want to find out if it will void your warranty call AHP and ask, thats not hard to do.

And why do you care anyway you sold yours.

It works great, crank it up to 200 amps use all the amps you need anytime you need them and weld away.

Great info, thanks for the thread. I'm thinking of using it with the HTP Artic Chill.
