    1958 SA 200 Advice

    Just got my first SA200 and was wondering if I need the hose that goes from the oil bath to the tube mounted to the manifold?Name:  176.jpg

    That is used only for cold weather, well below freezing as a rule. If you have a hard time starting it in cold weather then you use it.

    As gizzardgutz said that's for cold weather operation to keep the carburetor from icing up. In fact it's referred to as the "Carburetor De-Icier" in the machine manuals which go on to explain that icing typically occurs with high humidity and ambient temperatures between 26-40 degrees F.

    The manuals also instruct to disconnect it for warm weather operation - for obvious reasons.

    Faceplate puts it as a 1958 according to Stumph's chart
