    Yet another wedlder wanna be!!

    Hi Fellow welders

Been a weekend gearhead for a long time, always envied seeing guys welding, so this weekend I started on fabricating and welding my first piece: A frame for the racecar seat slide !!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, now looking at getting a MIG, would love to weld aluminum but only have 110V in my small garage...

    Thanks for having me !

Get a dual voltage mig. Or one with a spool gun + tank of argon and you can weld aluminum

Welcome to the forum mate, and congrats! welding is a super useful skill and I'm always happy to see new people getting into it.

for a hobbyist such as yourself, as long as you're in the US, I highly recommend buying one of the harbour freight Vlcan machines, they're far from top quality, but they are cheap, they do weld well enough, they come with everything you need to get started except for a bottle of gas, but more importantly for someone just starting out they have a 12 months no questions asked full refund return policy, so if you dont like the machine for any reason, you dont like welding for any reason, or just feel like upgrading before the 12 months is up you can just return it the HF for a full refund.
