How does a Miller 12VS compare to my Hobart "Hefty"? That is the only feeder I've ever used that is not mounted to, or encased in a welder.

Comparable. Both are VS devices that operate off CC and CV power supplies. Thermal Arc handles the line now.

Thanks Duane. My old Hefty while still 100% operational is long extinct for parts and support so may look to acquire something newer. Can't even get feed rollers for it any longer I'm told.Name: KIMG0471.jpg

Profax still sells FC drive rolls for the Hefty, have a hefty its old and is beat-up but it works great.

I was trying to be funny. There is nothing wrong with an LN25. There is also nothing wrong with with a Miller 12VS.

Profax also sells the contactor and the bridge rectifier, but are pricey. The bridge rectifier can be purchased from electronics store for under $5.00, the contactor an Albright or clone can be found on Ebay for under $100.00. The Albright SW200 is what is used in a LN-25, but can be adapted to fit the Hefty.

Drive rolls for the Hefty there is not much to choose from compared to the LN-25 and the Miller 12VS. The Hefty is still a great working feeder.

I'm interested in one, but was wondering if you would willing to ship one. My zip code is 60046. I live near Chicago, but drive a semi and I'm working six days a week. Don't think I would have a chance to make it up to Michigan.
