You'll pay more but you won't go wrong with Lincoln. I don't have any Lincoln mig wire, but have some Nr211 flux core, my mig wires are all Forney & Hobart & they are fine.

I like the esab spoolarc 86 for mig hard wire. Much better pricing from my supplier and runs nicer than Lincoln l-56, which is also a decent wire.

    Re: Wire Recomendations

I TRY the low cost wire to save. Money

When had shop I only one type of Type of wire E71T-1 with CO2 0.052 in 60 lb coils
we use it for 1 1/2" plate to 16Ga

Any other welding it was stick or torch

Since I in California at any some X-ray the weld and would after it was done the weld pass.

    Re: Wire Recomendations

I'm a massive fan of anything made by ESAB, I've had alot of good experiences with they're spoolarc 86 for solid wire and they're duel shield wires are second to none, they're 7100 Ultra is the smoothest running duel shield wire I've ever used, with the exception of the Metrode supercore 316L (but stainless in general runs smooth), and they're 8000-B2 and 9000-B3 wire's despite being a high alloy wire for creep resistant steel (think boilers experiencing 2500+ PSI at 1100 degree's F) it welds very smooth and is easy to get very high deposition rates with good mechanical properties and very low chance of failures.

most welder's don't realize that the term "duel shield" is actually a trademarked name by ESAB for they're gas shielded flux core wires, and the fact that "duel shield" has become the generic term for gas shielded flux core say's alot, similar to how most british people call every vacuum clean a "hoover", Lincoln call they're "duelshield" wires outershield for that reason. but everyone still calls it duel shield.

Basically I highly recommend trying the ESAB wire, be it solid wire or any of they're other's, ESAB makes quality products.
