Re: Boat Trailer Converted Flatbed Mod's

Ok I got all the holes drilled and the other six board on the port side of the trailer bolted down. That left a big 9+" gap in the middle so I took the trailer to Lowes for a 2"x10"x12' board. I noticed when I was bolting the boards to the trailer that they had a slight curve from end to end and seemed to be thicker in the middle. Sure $hit the boards "all of them even the new 2x10 are skinny on the ends and fat in the middle. I have never seen such crap in my life. I will never buy lumber at Lowes ever again. That's it I am done with their lumber. I'll take some pictures tomorrow after my phone has charged back up. I had to end up using a chalk/string to snap a couple of lines down the middle of the trailer to make the new 1.5" x 9.25 and less at the ends fit down the middle. I made it work but still I thought the problem was my fabrication and fit up. I know I did not make it perfect but $hit like this makes it even more fun...

Heck it all worked out, you made it look good. Brute force wins every time.

The white is a primer sealer base coat. It will eventually get painted black.

AWESOME , great choice , the Sierra Nevada that is. That worked out well. Trailers are so handy especially if you have a couple of sizes.

Yeah I drank that whole six pack that night, so yesterday was a recovery day. Hung over and hurtin for certain all over my body. I’m going to try to rap it up today so I can start using it to clear out my scrap in the backyard. Still have to make the 2x4 gates and figure out how I am going to latch them at the corners and so they don’t pop out while in transit.
